We’re here to help you thrive

At Thriving Saplings, we work with children, families, and schools. We offer communication coaching for young people, DISC profiling for families, and consultancy for schools looking to hire, develop, and retain great teachers.

How are we different?

01

We don't do one-size-fits-all.

Whether we're coaching a child to speak with confidence, helping a family decode why they keep having conflicts with each other, or advising a school on how to build a teaching team that lasts, every engagement begins with deep listening. We take the time to understand what's really going on before we recommend anything.

02

We bring the same rigour to every client, whether they're seven or seventy.

A child preparing for a DSA interview gets the same thoughtful, evidence-based approach as a school principal rethinking how they hire teachers. The stakes are different. The care is the same.

03

We equip you beyond our time together.

Coaching sessions end. Families keep growing. Schools keep evolving. That's why we make sure every child, every parent, and every school leader we work with leaves with tools, frameworks, and a new way of thinking on top of a GREAT experience.

Meet Claudine Fernandez

Education Consultant, International Speaker, Published Author

Claudine Fernandez has spent over a decade at the intersection of education, coaching, and human development. She works with children who need to find their voice, families who want to understand each other better and schools that are building the kind of teaching culture where everyone thrives.

Her journey began in the classroom. As a teacher and curriculum designer, Claudine saw firsthand how much a child's ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and authentically shaped not just their academic outcomes, but their sense of self. She also noticed something else: that the most impactful interventions rarely stopped at the child. They rippled outward into the home, into the family dynamic, and into the school environment that either supported or constrained a child's growth.

That insight became the foundation of everything she does today.

For the children she coaches, Claudine creates a safe, nurturing space where young people develop real communication skills: speaking with clarity, writing with purpose, and showing up with the confidence to be heard. Her approach is playful and intuitive, drawing on strengths-based coaching, personality profiling, and narrative techniques to help each child discover their unique voice. Whether a child is preparing for a high-stakes DSA interview or simply learning to express themselves without shutting down, Claudine meets them exactly where they are.

For the families she works with, Claudine offers something equally powerful: the tools to truly understand one another. Through DISC profiling and in-depth debriefing sessions, she helps parents see their child and themselves with new eyes. Why does their child withdraw under pressure? Why do certain conversations always end in conflict? DISC profiling doesn't just describe a child's personality; it illuminates the dynamic between parent and child, giving families a shared language and practical strategies to connect more deeply at home.

For the schools she partners with, Claudine brings the perspective of an educator who has lived the full arc of the profession: from classroom teacher to coach to consultant. She works with school leaders on the challenges that matter most: how to hire teachers who are genuinely the right fit, how to develop and train them in ways that build lasting capability, and how to create the conditions that make great educators want to stay. With a Master's in Education from Harvard University and years of curriculum design experience, she understands what good teaching looks like and what it takes to build a school culture that sustains it.

Warm, rigorous, and deeply practical, Claudine holds a Master of Education from Harvard University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from NIE Singapore, and certifications in life coaching, behavioral consulting, and career coaching. She is also a TEDx speaker and brings that same clarity of thought and authentic presence to every client she works with.

At the heart of it all is a simple belief: that when children are understood, families are connected, and teachers are supported, extraordinary things happen. That is what Thriving Saplings exists to make possible.

What our clients are saying

  • ''The DISC assessment not only reaffirmed what we already knew about our son, but more importantly made us understand why he behaves the way he does. By highlighting his fears and motivations, we have the opportunity to be able to relate to him much more. This knowledge will help us to improve our communication with him moving forward and to provide the support he needs mentally and emotionally. The assessment itself was quick and easy enough for a child to perform without too much stress and the analysis and debrief afterwards was incredibly helpful in interpreting and explaining the results. Claudine was very helpful in suggesting areas of potential growth as well as tips on how to improve communication with him''.

—Melissa De Costa, Mother of Liam

  • ''Glad that we did the DISC test with Ray Yang. It was really an eye opener for us to realise his character. It is quite consistent. Now we know why he reacts this way in his studies and other areas. We now know how to work better with him. Should have done this test earlier.''

    —Geraldine, Mother of Ray Yang

  • ''The DISC session is a simple assessment yet amazingly accurate analysis on the traits displayed by the child. It helps a great deal in understanding why the child acts or do things in a certain way due to their disposition. This enables us as parents to manage the kid in a more appropriate and effective way based on their strength and weakness.''

    —Corrine, Mother of Isaac

  • ''It was definitely a beneficial session for both of us (parents)! It helped us put what we knew about our child into perspective and frame what we needed to understand. The 1 hour analysis session allowed us to see how we could move forward and adopt some simple strategies that can help our child maximise her potential. It also helped explain the differences in personalities (parent and child) and the reasons for the tension or clashes that sometimes happen during communication. Definitely worth our time and hope we can adopt the tips and strategies to help our child.''

    _ Fardyana, Mother of Nasuha
